1 ABSTRACT PD X is a company which operates in the commerce industry. In terms of its business, the company always tries to reach its goal which is to meet customers demand. The company also manages to get the labor cost as minimum as possible. Due to the fluctuations of demand, the company hard to confirm the need of workers and it caused finds it is hard to estimate the labor cost in order to avoid loses. The purpose of this research is to find out how to apply service scheduling in PD X to minimize the labor cost while dealing with fluctuated demand. Currently, the scheduling which is used by the company is employs all the workers for 6 days in a week and got day off on Sunday. The company also does not use forecasting method in estimating the future demand. If the company has a labor shortage, the company will suffered loss sales and it caused the opportunity cost. By using the current scheduling, the labor cost amounts IDR ,12. Forecasting method which is used in this worker scheduling is the Linear Trend. The proposed scheduling is using Tibrewala, Philipe and Browne algorithm and also scheduling with Monroe algorithm cost that amounts to IDR ,00. By using both of scheduling method, the company will be able to save IDR ,12 for labor cost. Key words: commerce service, worker scheduling, cost efficiency vii
2 ABSTRAK PD X merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak di dalam sektor jasa perdagangan. Dalam menjalankan usahanya, perusahaan selalu berusaha untuk mencapai tujuannya, yaitu memenuhi permintaan konsumen. Perusahaan mengusahakan agar biaya yang dikeluarkan untuk mempekerjakan tenaga kerja dapat ditekan seminimum mungkin. Adanya permintaan yang berfluktuasi mengakibatkan perusahaan sulit untuk memastikan berapa tenaga kerja yang harus dipekerjakan yang pada akhirnya perusahaan sulit menghitung biaya tenaga kerja yang harus dikeluarkan agar perusahaan tidak mengalami kerugian. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui penerapan penjadwalan tenaga kerja pada PD X guna meminimumkan biaya tenaga kerja yang harus dikeluarkan dalam menghadapi permintaan konsumen yang berfluktuasi. Pada saat ini penjadwalan yang dijalankan oleh perusahaan adalah dengan mempekerjakan seluruh tenaga kerja yang ada dengan jadwal kerja 6 hari per minggu dan libur pada hari Minggu. Perusahaan juga tidak melakukan peramalan permintaan untuk masa mendatang. Jika perusahaan kekurangan tenaga kerja akibat dari permintaan yang berfluktuasi, perusahaan akan kehilangan permintaan yang datang dan akan menimbulkan opportunity cost bagi perusahaan. Dengan penjadwalan yang dijalankan perusahaan saat ini, perusahaan mengeluarkan biaya sebesar Rp ,12. Metode peramalan yang digunakan dalam penjadwalan tenaga kerja ini adalah metode Trend Linier. Penjadwalan yang diusulkan dalam penjadwalan tenaga kerja adalah penjadwalan dengan algoritma Tibrewala, Philipe, dan Browne dan penjadwalan dengan algoritma Monroe dengan total biaya Rp ,00. Dengan menggunakan kedua metode penjadwalan ini perusahaan dapat menghemat biaya sebesar Rp ,12. Kata kunci: jasa perdagangan, penjadwalan tenaga kerja, efisiensi biaya. viii
