1 ABSTRACT One of the most important activity of the company is selling and it is the central point for the company. Selling activities are useful to obtain the optimal profit to improve company performance and to maintain the company's survival in the long term. Companies need the information before making a decision to implement the business strategy in order to survive in a competitive business that exists today. Companies need accurate, relevant, timely, and complete informantion that can give confidence in decision making. The purpose of this study was to assess the extent to which accounting system that runs the current sales at pharmacies CV "Keluarga" can provide the required information. Data analysis using the method of qualitative analysis. The results showed that the accounting information system that runs it is still done manually. In other words, the new accounting information systems sales of drugs have the orientation towards to a computerized system. Keywords: accounting information systems, and cash selling vii
2 ABSTRAK Salah satu aktivitas perusahaan yang terpenting adalah penjualan dan merupakan titik sentral bagi perusahaan. Kegiatan penjualan berguna untuk memperoleh laba yang optimal untuk meningkatkan kineerja perusahaan serta untuk mempertahankan kelangsungan hidup perusahaan dalam jangka waktu yang lama. Perusahaan membutuhkan informasi sebelum mengambil sebuah keputusan untuk menerapkan strategi usaha agar tetap bisa bertahan dalam persaingan bisnis yang ada saat ini. Perusahaan membutuhkan informasi yang akurat, relevan, tepat waktu, dan lengkap yang dapat memberikan keyakinan dan kepastian dalam pengambilan keputusan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji sejauh mana sistem akuntansi penjualan yang berjalan saat ini pada Apotek CV Keluarga dapat memberikan informasi yang dibutuhkan. Data dianalisis menggunakan metode analisis kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem informasi akuntansi yang berjalan saat ini masih dilakukan secara manual. Dengan kata lain, sistem informasi akuntansi penjualan obat yang baru mempunyai orientasi ke arah sistem terkomputerisasi. Kata-kata kunci: Sistem informasi akuntansi, dan penjualan tunai. viii
