English Education Department, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training. Advisor: (I) Raida Asfihana, M.Pd. (II) Nur Alfa Rahmah SS, M.Pd Keywords: Analysis, Errors, Translating, Descriptive text The problem formulation of this research are: How is the students translation of descriptive text, what kind of errors the students made, what cause s the students error in translating descriptive text. The subject of this research is 20 students of MAN 3. The object of the research is to know what kinds of errors were found by the students in translating desriptive text about school, idol, and animal The researcher used descriptive analytical research. Descriptive analysis is a method in which the researcher collects the data needed, and then analyze the data. The students were given essay test, the essay is about Indonesian text which is translated to English. They had to write based on their ability. Then the writer analyzed students test through classifying the errors based on Azar s classification; pronoun, sentence pattern, tense, preposition, spelling and punctuation. The result of this research stated that researcher got the result of grammar errors made by ten graders at MAN 3 Amuntai in translating descriptive text. The errors were done in translating text are in Spelling and Punctuation for the highest errors by 18 students or 90%, the second is errors in tense by 16 students or 80%, the third is errors in Sentence Pattern by 11 students or 55%, the forth is errors in Pronoun by 9 students or 45%, and the last errors in Preposition with 7 errors or 35%. These errors were caused by Mother Tongue Interference was classified errors in Sentence Pattern as the errors in Omission, Translation was classified errors in Tense as the errors in Omission, Overgeneralization was classified errors in Pronoun as the errors in Selection, Overgeneralization was classified errors in Preposition as the errors in Omission, Carelessness was classified errors in spelling and punctuation as the errors in Selection.

Jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris, Fakultas Tarbiyah dan Pelatihan Guru. Penasihat: (I) Raida Asfihana, M.Pd. (II) Nur Alfa Rahmah SS, M.Pd Kata kunci: Analisis, Kesalahan, Penerjemahan, Teks deskriptif Rumusan masalah dari penelitian ini adalah: Bagaimana siswa menterjemahkan teks Deskriptif, jenis kesalahan apa yang dibuat oleh siswa, Adakah sebab yang membuat siswa melakukan kesalahan dalam menerjemahkan teks deskriptif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 20 siswa MAN 3. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui "jenis kesalahan yang ditemukan oleh siswa dalam menerjemahkan teks Desriptif tentang" sekolah, idola, dan hewan "dari siswa kelas sepuluh MAN 3 Amuntai. Peneliti menggunakan penelitian deskriptif analitis. Analisis deskriptif adalah metode dimana peneliti mengumpulkan data yang dibutuhkan, kemudian menganalisa data. Para siswa diberi tes esai, esai tersebut adalah tentang teks bahasa Indonesia yang diterjemahkan ke bahasa Inggris. Mereka harus menulis berdasarkan kemampuan mereka. Kemudian penulis menganalisis tes siswa dengan mengklasifikasikan kesalahan berdasarkan klasifikasi Betty Schrampfer Azar; Ponoun, pola kalimat, ejaan, tanda baca. Hasil penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa peneliti mendapatkan hasil kesalahan tata bahasa yang dilakukan oleh siswa kelas satu MAN 3 Amuntai dalam menerjemahkan teks deskriptif. Kesalahan yang dilakukan dalam Translating text ada pada Ejaan dan Tanda Baca untuk kesalahan tertinggi oleh 18 siswa atau 90%, yang kedua adalah kesalahan yang tegang oleh 16 siswa atau 80%, yang ketiga adalah kesalahan dalam Pola Kalimat oleh 11 siswa atau 55% Ke depan adalah kesalahan dalam Pronoun oleh 9 siswa atau 45%, dan kesalahan terakhir dalam Preposisi dengan 7 kesalahan atau 35%. Kesalahan ini disebabkan oleh Mother Tongue Interference yang diklasifikasikan kesalahan dalam Pola Kalimat sebagai kesalahan dalam Kelalaian, Terjemahan diklasifikasikan kesalahan dalam Tense sebagai kesalahan dalam Kelalaian, Overgeneralisasi diklasifikasikan kesalahan dalam Pronoun sebagai kesalahan dalam Seleksi, Overgeneralisasi diklasifikasikan kesalahan dalam Preposisi Sebagai kesalahan dalam Kelalaian, kecerobohan diklasifikasikan kesalahan dalam ejaan dan tanda baca sebagai kesalahan dalam Seleksi.
