HE Knows MyName He Knows My Name (DIA Tau Nama Saya) DIA Tahu Namaku Sabbath Feb 19 th 2011
Story about Name When the 1960s ended, ddsan Francisco's Haight Ashbury district reverted to high rent, and many hippies i moved down the coast to Santa Cruz. They had children and got married, idtoo, though hin no particular sequence. But they didn't name their children Mli Melissa or Brett.
That's when the kindergarten teachers first met Fruit Stand. Every fall, according to tradition, parents bravely apply name tags to their children, kiss them good bye and send them off to school on the bus. So it was for Fruit Stand. The teachers thought the boy's name was odd, but they tried to make the best of it.
"Would you like to play with the blocks, Fruit Stand?" they offered. And later, "Fruit Stand, how about a snack?" He accepted hesitantly. By the end of the day, his name didn't seem much odder than Heather's or Sun Ray's.
If God knows the names of each of the billion of stars, He certainly has not forgotten ours. Psalm 147 : 4 He counts the number of the stars; He calls them all by name. Have you ever felt lonely? Have you ever felt that no one in the world understood what you were going through at the moment?
Story of Hagar Hagar served as a maidservant in Abraham s household. God had promised Abraham many offspring, but his wife, Sarah was barren and old, so she offered Hagar to her husband, and the girl became pregnant. But the barren wife became more and more jealous of her pregnant servant. Finally Sarah mistreated her so badly that Hagar was forced to flee.
'Hagar in the Desert'
Hagar found herself : 1. On the desert road between Kadesh and Bered. 2. She was utterly alone and had no place to go and she was pregnant. 3. In that sandy wasteland she was nothing. 4. She was a slave with no one to work for. 5. A prospective mother with no family. 6. An Egyptian in wild Canaan.
Finally exhaustion broke through the emotions driving her on. Hagar stopped by a spring to rest. In this moment of total despair and isolation, someone called her by name : Hagar, servant of Sarah. Who knew her out there in that wasteland? And who cared? An angel of the Lord did. He asked where she was going. g She replied, I m running
Then God, through this angel, gave Hagar the same kind of promise He d given her master. He said, I ll Ill make your descendants to numerous to count. The baby would be a boy, to be named Ishmael, meaning God hears. So Hagar found the strength to survive. She returned to Abraham and Sarah, had her son.
ALONE AND PREGNANT, SHE SURVIVED Now, Hagar knew that God wasn t just up in the stars over Abraham; He was down in the desert by her side. And she now called Him The God who sees me. She knew He d come close. He d called her by name.
Lesson for us If God can call Hagar by name, then he can exactly call out our name even in the Desert of Isolation (Imagine what kind of life condition is it?) He understands everything about us as God s Children. He, who knows us best & loves us most. In Psalm 37:23 &24 The LORD guides a man in the way he should go andprotects those who pleasehim. If they fall, they will not stay down, because the LORD will help them up.
