CHAPTER V CONCLUSION AND SUGGESTION In this chapter the writer presents the conclusion and suggestion based on the result of the study. 5.1 Conclusion Based on the result of data analysis of the study the conclusion is presented. The writer can conclude that: 1: The Translation of the text from Bahasa Indonesia into English of the second year students of SMK Swasta Lamaholot Larantuka is classified as Bad Translation. It is because only 129(27.80%) sentences were translated correctly while 335 (72.19%) sentences were translated incorrectly. 2:The areas of difficulties faced by the students in doing the translation were grammatical structures ( tenses, preposition, article, personal pronoun) and vocabulary. 5.2 Suggestion Based on the conclusion that the writer got from the data analysis, the writer would like to give some suggestions for the English Teacher and the students as follows: 64
1. For the English Teachers The teacher of English of the eleventh grade students of SMK Swasta Lamaholot Larantuka is expected to focus on grammar particularly the correct use of tenses, personal pronoun and preposition. And the teacher should give more translation exercises for the students to improve the grammar and vocabulary. 2. For the students The students must spend more time to learn English grammar and vocabulary. The students are expected to practise translation from Bahasa Indonesia into English.

SARAH DAN SEBUAH MELON BESAR Dahulu kala ada seorang gadis cantik bernama Sarah, yang tinggal dengan ibu tirinya. Ibu tirinya sangat rakus dan jahat. Dia sangat membenci Sarah. Pada suatu hari ketika ayahnya sedang bekerja diluar, ibu tirinya memukul Sarah dan mengusirnya dari rumah. Sarah pergi keluar dan berjalan jauh dari rumah. Tiba-tiba dia melihat sebuah perkebunan melon besar dan masuk kedalamnya. Setelah itu, Sarah bersembunyi di dalam sebuah melon besar itu. Pada suatu hari seorang Pangeran mengunjungi sebuah kebun dan melihat melon besar. Potong melon ini saya ingin memakannya. Pengawal-pengawal pangeran mulai memotong melon itu, tetapi mereka mendengarkan suara dari dalam melon itu. Sarah berkata Tolong jangan potonng saya. Mereka semua kaget pada situasi ini. Pangeran berkata siapa kamu? Tetap tenang dan silahkan keluar. Tiba-tiba Sarah keluar. Kemudian pangeran jatuh cinta kepada sarah. Sarah menceritakan kepada pangeran, kemudian pangeran memutuskan untuk menikahinya dan mereka hidup bahagia selamanya.
SARAH AND A BIG MELON Once upon a time there was a beautiful girl called Sarah, who lived with her stepmother. Her stepmother was very greedy and arogant. She hated Sarah a lot. Oneday when her father was working outside, the stepmother hit Sarah and expelled her from the house. She went outside and walked far away from the house. Suddenly, she saw a big melon farm and went in it. After that, she hid herself in a big melon. Oneday a prince visited the farm and saw the big melon. Cut this melon. I want to eat it, the prince said. The prince s guards started to cut the melon, but they heard a voice from inside the melon. Sarah said Don t cut me, please!. They were all surprised at this situation. The prince said, Who are you? Calm down, please come out. Suddenly Sarah went out from the melon. Then, he fell in love with her. She told him her story, so the prince decided to marry her and they lived happily ever after.
