ABSTRACT Skripsi yang berjudul The Analysis of Figurative Expressions in the Holy Bible: Hebrew adalah suatu kajian yang menganalisis makna penutur yakni makna non-literal yang terdapat dalam kalimat dan ungkapan dalam Alkitab khususny yang terdapat dalam surat Rasul Paulus kepada jemaat di Ibrani (ditulis dengan judul Ibrani). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui jenis-jenis kalimat yang mengandung makna non-literal dalam Ibrani dan mendeskripsikan makna yang sesungguhnya dari kalimat-kalimat non-literal tersebut, serta untuk mengetahui jenis makna non-literal apa yang paling banyak terdapat dalam kitab Ibrani. Dalam menulis skripsi ini penulis menerapkan metode kepustakaan sebagai metode yang dipakai dalam analisis ini. Adapun jenis makna yang dianalisis adalah kalimat dan ungkapan yang mengandung metafora, hyperbola, personifikasi, simile, metonimia, ironi, dan sinekdot. Setiap data akan dianalisis sesuai dengan langkah-langkah analisis dan pada akhirnya akan ditarik suatu kesimpulan akhir yaitu bahwa jenis kalimat figurative yang paling banyak terdapat di Ibrani adalah jenis metafora, yakni sebanyak 20 kasus atau 40,8 %, kemudian hiperbola dengan 9 kasus atau 18,36%, ironi dengan 7 kasus atau 14,3%, simile dengan 5 kasus atu sama dengan 10,2 dan personifikasi dengan jumlah kasus yang sama dan terakhir adalah sinekdot dengan 3 kasus atau sama dengan 6,1%.
